Installation Requirements

Tap your appliance type to review what needs to be in place before delivery day.

Standard installation requires existing, compatible, accessible, safe, and serviceable household connections. Additional work not included in the listed service will not be performed or charged without customer authorization.

10 Things to Check Before Delivery

  1. Appliance won't fit — space too small, doorway or stairway too tight, or turns too sharp.
  2. Path isn't clear or safe — clutter, loose pets, slippery steps, unsafe stairs, or unsafe railings.
  3. No working shut-off valve for water appliances — seized, leaking, corroded, or inaccessible.
  4. No proper electrical power — missing outlet, wrong outlet, or new circuit required.
  5. Gas hookup not ready — no accessible shut-off valve or unsafe piping.
  6. No proper venting — dryer vent missing, unsafe, crushed, or clogged.
  7. Drain problems — dishwasher or washer drain clogged or no drain connection.
  8. Old appliance not ready for removal — not emptied, blocked in, still hardwired, or still connected.
  9. Area needs home modifications — cabinet, counter, flooring, plumbing, electrical, or venting changes required.
  10. Missing required parts or accessories — correct cord, gas connector, vent kit, stacking kit, installation kit, or other required item.

Gas connections: The listed service includes a standard compatible flexible appliance connector when appropriate. The home must have safe existing household gas piping and an accessible, operating shutoff valve. Dan's Appliance does not install, extend, relocate, or replace permanent household gas piping unless separately agreed to in writing. Copper gas flex connections are not used.

Moving an existing appliance: Moving an existing appliance may be available by written quote, depending on access, distance, condition, and crew requirements.

Standard installation does not include: Cabinet modification, countertop modification, flooring modification, plumbing alteration, electrical alteration, gas-system alteration, structural work, correction of preexisting problems, or use of unsafe or prohibited connection materials. Additional work of this type may require a licensed contractor and is not included in a standard installation charge.

Included materials: Included materials are limited to standard compatible materials for the listed service. Specialty, unusually long, upgraded, or site-specific materials require separate approval.
