Our Story
Dan & Karen Diebold
Dan's Appliance was built on a dream shared by Dan and Karen Diebold — to run a business rooted in their community, where customers are treated like neighbors, not numbers.
Dan learned the appliance trade from the ground up — sales, service, parts, and everything in between. In 1983, he and Karen opened their own store at 168 3rd Street in Leechburg, PA. Karen was his partner in every sense: keeping the business running, managing the books, and making sure every customer who walked through the door felt welcome.
Dan passed away in 2016. His name is still on the door, and his approach to the business — honest, personal, and community-first — is still how things are done here.
The Early Days
In the beginning, Dan's carried more than just appliances — the store also sold electronics and video equipment, reflecting the spirit of a true neighborhood retailer willing to serve whatever the community needed.
Over the decades, Dan's evolved and focused on what it does best: major home appliances. The store became known throughout the Alle-Kiski Valley as the place to go for honest advice, fair prices, and service you can count on after the sale.
Karen Carries It Forward
Since Dan's passing, Karen has continued to operate the store with the same values they built it on. She knows the customers, she knows the business, and she's committed to keeping Dan's Appliance the kind of place where you can call and talk to someone who actually knows what they're talking about.
More than 40 years in, Dan's Appliance is still here — still local, still personal, and still the place the Alle-Kiski Valley turns to for appliances, parts, and service.
