Information We Collect

Dan's Appliance collects information that customers provide directly through our contact, quote, repair request, delivery, financing, kitchen-package questionnaire, complaint, and Ask a Tech forms. This may include your name, mailing address, telephone number, email address, appliance model and serial number information, and details about your service or purchase request.

For the Ask a Tech service specifically, we collect: your Ask a Tech request number; the questions you submit; your description of the appliance problem; the appliance model and serial number you provide; the date and version of the service terms you agreed to; payment status; a PayPal transaction reference number; and email-delivery status for the technician response.

Payment credentials are processed by PayPal or another authorized payment provider. Dan's Appliance does not receive or store your full payment-card number or card security code.

When you visit our website, our first-party analytics system automatically collects information such as pages visited, referring website, and browser type. We also assign a session identifier (da_session_id) to each browser session and, with your consent, a persistent visitor identifier (da_visitor_id) stored in your browser's local storage. These identifiers are used solely to understand how visitors use the site and to improve its content and services. They are not shared with advertising networks.

IP addresses collected during a visit are masked before storage (only the first two octets are retained) and are not used to identify individual visitors.

When you use the Compare My Price form, you may optionally upload a screenshot or document (such as a competitor's product page or quote). Uploaded files are stored in a private, non-public server directory and are not accessible via any public URL. Files are used only by Dan's Appliance staff to prepare your written quote and are not shared with third parties.

When you submit any quote, repair, parts, or comparison request, Dan's Appliance records a non-personally-identifiable lead log entry. This entry includes a generated reference number, the type of request, the appliance category and model number (if provided), and whether delivery, installation, or haul-away was requested. It does not include your name, email, phone number, or address.

Why We Collect It

We collect information to respond to your requests for pricing, availability, service, parts, delivery, installation, and other customer-service purposes.

We may also use your contact information to follow up on a submitted request, confirm a delivery or service appointment, or communicate about an existing order or repair.

First-party analytics data (page views, product interest, session identifiers) is used exclusively by Dan's Appliance to understand which products and categories customers are interested in, to improve the website, and to prioritize follow-up on submitted quote and service requests.

How We Use Your Information

Dan's Appliance uses the information you provide to respond to your request and to provide the products and services you have requested or purchased.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties for their own marketing purposes.

Visitor identifiers and behavioral data collected by our first-party analytics system are used only for internal business intelligence. They are never sold, rented, or shared with advertising networks or data brokers.

When Information May Be Shared

In the ordinary course of business, your information may be provided to manufacturers, distributors, delivery providers, warranty administrators, insurers, financing companies, payment processors, or our website and technology service providers (including GoDaddy) when necessary to fulfill your request or complete a transaction.

Ask a Tech requests are routed to designated Dan's Appliance service and backup mailboxes for review and response by a service technician. Your request information is not shared with unrelated third parties for marketing purposes.

We may also disclose information when required by law, court order, or government authority.

How Long We Retain Information

We retain customer information for as long as reasonably necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this policy, to comply with applicable legal requirements, and to resolve disputes or enforce our agreements.

First-party analytics session data is retained for up to 90 days. Persistent visitor identifiers are retained for up to 12 months from the last visit. Aggregate, non-identifiable analytics data may be retained indefinitely for business planning purposes.

How We Protect Your Information

Dan's Appliance takes reasonable steps to protect the information you provide from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure.

No method of online transmission or electronic storage is guaranteed to be completely secure. We cannot guarantee the absolute security of information transmitted to or stored on our systems.

Cookies, Local Storage, and Tracking Tools

Our website uses cookies and browser local storage for the following purposes: (1) session management — a session identifier (da_session_id) is stored in session storage for the duration of your browser session; (2) visitor recognition — with your consent, a persistent visitor identifier (da_visitor_id) is stored in local storage for up to 12 months; (3) analytics — Google Analytics 4 (GA4) is loaded only after you consent to analytics cookies; (4) session replay — Microsoft Clarity may be loaded after consent to help us understand how visitors interact with the site.

You may withdraw analytics consent at any time using the cookie consent controls on this site. Withdrawing consent will prevent new analytics data from being collected; it does not delete previously collected data.

You may also disable cookies through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may affect some website functionality.

Some pages on this website may contain affiliate links and third-party affiliate tracking images or pixels. These technologies may record an advertisement impression, referral, link click, or qualifying purchase so that a commission can be attributed to Dan's Appliance.
